Our Client, a leading International Law Firm, is looking to recruit a Regulatory Consultant in a fee-earning role to assist the Financial Services Consultancy Team with all FSA compliance-related aspects of servicing the needs of the group's clients. Reporting into the Regulatory Practice Partner your duties will include:
• Project managing and working on a broad range of FSA applications (in particular, applications for Part IV Permission, variations and cancellations of permission, applications for approval of a change in control and approved persons applications). • Fostering professional relationships and maintaining open lines of communication with clients, being alert to regulatory changes affecting clients and being proactive in bringing these to clients' attention. • Developing detailed, tailored compliance documentation for clients with assistance from Financial Services Team. • Undertaking on-site compliance audits and advising clients on ad hoc compliance queries • Creating briefing notes on topical regulatory and compliance issues and ensuring that these are revised on an ongoing basis.
The successful candidate must be a graduate and have gained at least several years experience of Investment Management (including Hedge Funds, Private Equity or Asset Management) or Investment Banking/Securities Trading, either in an in-house compliance position, in a compliance consultancy role or the regulator itself. While you will need a broad working knowledge of the various financial services sectors as important will be a practical knowledge of the FSA Regulations and an understanding of FSMA 2000 & MiFID. Any legal qualifications advantageous but not expected if you have strong other skills & experience (salary determined by such)
