Our client, a leading financial services group, is looking for a senior AML professional to ensure that appropriate controls and procedures are in place and to deputise for the MLRO when required. Reporting to the Head of Financial Crime, your duties will include:
• Conducting departmental reviews to ensure that the requisite money laundering / financial crime prevention controls are in place. • Undertaking monitoring for the proactive identification of potentially suspicious transactions. • Investigating AML alerts and sanction hits as escalated by members of the team and clearing such through suitable investigation or escalating as an incident for further review. • Liaising with IT & Project Management in the implementation & testing of new systems. • Approving all new clients through due diligence procedures including the review of KYC documentation and AML procedures prepared by the KYC Team. • Undertaking the internal review of all suspicions and determining if such suspicious reports have substance and require disclosure to SOCA or the FSA.
You should have a number of years experience in a senior FCP/AML role some of which must be spent in an Investment Banking or Securities Trading environment, with good knowledge of UK Treasury/ OFAC sanctions. While good project management and presentation skills would be advantageous as important, will be your ability to deal with senior external and internal clients, and have the gravitas to influence their thinking and therefore drive change.
